23 Weeks

How Far Along? 23 Weeks as of Sunday
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +12
Baby Related Purchases: I tried online shopping for maternity clothes this week. Here’s what I got:

We also got this crib in the mail this week! Yay! Although, we have nowhere to put it, so into the shed it goes for now!

Stretch marks: Don’t think so
Sleep: Okay – my sickness continued most of the week, so I couldn’t sleep on my side. I woke up every night with a coughing attack – but I don’t think that was due to pregnancy 🙁
Movement: Yes – still feeling movement, a little more each week I think. Def. cool!
What I miss: Still missed my my Nyquil/Dayquil combo this week. Luckily, I got some prescriptions that my doctor said was okay and I’m feeling better now after about 2 weeks of sickness!
Cravings: French fries, frozen yogurt (this week we have Key Lime Pie flavor from Publix – Yum!), Yogurt, cereal and milk
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Gender: Girl – took awhile for this to really sink in, but I couldn’t image anything else now!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: My back hurts at night when I’m sitting down – which can be a little annoying – but I won’t complain!
Belly Button In or Out? In
Happy or Moody most of the time:  It was a good week, we spent a relaxing weekend at the Lake House with friends – so I think that helped!
Worries: Not too worried this week – hopefully all those prescriptions were okay for the baby.
Best moments this week: On Friday night, we drove to the Lake House where we made home made pizza with pizza dough from Publix – they turned out really good! We met our friends, Drew, Lauren, Jamin, and Megan there for the weekend. On Friday, we just spent the night hanging out and catching up. We were all pretty tired from the week. On Saturday we got to sleep in and really took it easy the entire day. We took turns preparing meals, so we got to eat tons of delicious food! On Saturday, Jamin and Megan make chicken tacos and we played The Game of Things – which was really fun. The guys spent some time fishing, smoking cigars, etc., while the girls headed to the outlet malls. That night Drew and Lauren prepared some steak and swordfish, potatoes, and veggies. We also made some s’mores on the outdoor fire pit. We ended the day by watching Cool Runnings. On Sunday, we had breakfast together and enjoyed another lazy day – yay! – just what I needed to get better! We played almost an entire game of Phase 10 before cleaning up and getting ready to go. That night, Jason and I got home, unpacked, went grocery shopping, and watched this move called A Better Life – which was pretty good.
Looking forward to: Excited about my appt. next week for 24 weeks! I’m excited that as each day passes, there is a better chance for Lucy to get here healthy.
Size of Baby: Approx. the size of a mango.

What Baby’s Up To: (from BabyCenterTurn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she’s more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound, you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby’s increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won’t faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

  1. Oh wow, so glad that you got some relaxation time. That is SO IMPORTANT during pregnancy!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Target dress. I'll definitely be checking out Target's maternity section next time I'm down that way.

  2. Thanks! Yes – you should def. do some shopping online at Target.com – I think I got the dress for only $25 or so!
